Learning and Growing Through Lacrosse(A note from Kevin Carroll)

Do you want to have your MS daughter play against some of the top competition in the nation next summer, attend high intensity well planned practices while having fun and raising money for an awesome charity at the same time? Then join me and my family as we kick off the Southern Ohio Chapter of Lacrosse for Wishes, a competitive summer travel program for female players graduating in 2021 and 2022.

About Lacrosse for Wishes:

Lacrosse for Wishes is a competitive summer lacrosse program where for kids to participate on a team, they need to raise money for Make-A-Wish®. We will be supporting the Southern Ohio Chapter of Make-A-Wish.

Why Make-A-Wish?

The reason our family would like to get involved with Make-A-Wish is that in May 2015 my niece was granted a wish from Make-A-Wish in Long Island, NY.  She was 4 years old and has had epileptic seizures since she was a baby.  The overall experience has moved my family to want to do something here in Southern Ohio to allow other children to have their wishes granted just like my niece did in May.

Looking forward to volunteering my time and expertise:

I have been involved in lacrosse for the past 30 years as a player, official, coach, and program administrator.  I am currently the Vice President for the Southern Ohio Chapter of US Lacrosse, President of the Southern Ohio Youth Girls Lacrosse Association, as well as being a board member for the Irish Lacrosse Foundation.  I am currently a coach for the Mason Lacrosse Club in Mason, Ohio and have been an assistant coach for the Irish National Team and Team Ireland’s developmental team at the 2014 World Championship in Denver, Colorado.  I have my Level 2 Coaching Certification from US Lacrosse and participate annually at the US Lacrosse National Coaches Convention.  Lacrosse is a family passion with each of my family members being involved in some way, shape, or fashion.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to get involved. You may also find out more information about the Southern Ohio Make-A-Wish chapter at http://oki.wish.org/ or by contacting Rebecca Dykstra, Development Officer, Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana at
